The Oman Cultural Complex, designed by French firm Architecturestudio, will consist of the new National Theatre, National Library and an exhibition center, and cover 70,000 square meters upon completion. ArchitectureStudioRoueïda Ayache oversees most Architecturestudio projects in the Middle East, including previous designs such as the Bahrain National Theatre, opened in 2012, and Jordan’s Amman Rotana Tower. She believes that the Cultural Complex will become a key attraction in Muscat. ArchitectureStudioRené-Henri Arnaud is the partner architect in charge of the Cultural Complex, and for him, a crucial aspect is its practicality. Arnaud adds that the National Library “will be a multimedia library, not just for students but international visitors.”There is no definitive completion date as yet for the complex.

CNN —Actor Michael Gambon, best known for playing Albus Dumbledore in most of the “Harry Potter” movies, has died at 82 following a “bout of pneumonia,” a statement issued on behalf of his family said on Thursday, PA Media news agency reported. Gambon began his acting on the stage in the early 1960s and later moved into TV and film. Gambon played down the praise for his performance and said he simply played himself "with a stuck-on beard and a long robe". Michael John Gambon was born on Oct. 19, 1940, in Dublin to a seamstress mother and an engineer father. Gambon left school aged 15 to begin an engineering apprenticeship and by 21 he was fully qualified. He revealed in an episode of "The Late Late Show" in Ireland that he convinced his mother he was friends with the pope.

CNN —After playing Shiv Roy in “Succession,” the critically acclaimed TV series that satirically portrayed the uber-rich but morally bankrupt Roy family grappling for control of a media empire, Sarah Snook will star in another production that skewers society. She will play all 26 roles in the “The Picture of Dorian Gray,” which will run for 12 weeks at London’s Theatre Royal Haymarket from January 2024. Directed by Kip Williams, the artistic director of the Sydney Theatre Company, the play will combine live performance and video “in an astonishing collision of form,” Theatre Royal Haymarket said. “I am elated to return to the London stage in such an astonishing piece of theatre,” Snook said, according to theater site WhatsOnStage. Snook’s “Succession” on screen parents are also returning to the London stage.
